Hey GGFan, I vaguely recall an incident you had with this douchebag from Smogon named Warthog. Something about him forfeiting against you and being a total dip about it. Care to elaborate?

In 2005, Smogon had declared Warthog the best RBYer because he had been performing well in its IBT tournament--which was really just an egregious way for Smogon to pat itself on the back (really, an IBT hosted by a forum that had declared itself superior to its contemporaries?). This was back when Smogon was primarily associated with being an elitist gathering of the biggest pricks on the face of the internet. Because I was disliked by the oligarchy of chaos, Vineon, and skarm, Smogon created a conspicuous subterfuge in the form of libel that I was a joke and a gimmick and so on. But I wasn't the only one who was subjected to such treatment: in Smogon's attempt to monopolize competitive Pokemon, I had often witnessed such audacious statements as "there are no other servers besides Smogon," "Smogon is the only thing that matters," and other laughable claims made by the fledgling community. Essentially, Smogon tried to dismiss the fact that I was a skilled player because I spoke out against them and trolled their server. In the summer of that year, I suffered a 1-0 loss to zfs in a battle that I would have won if my Chansey hadn't been paralyzed four times in a row. He made a topic on Smogon bragging about his victory for beating me with a Kabutops on his team. There was a big commotion about it, and though it seemed like I couldn't counter such a loss, it inspired me to improved my game. From that point on, I played with a more meticulous approach, and I eventually became so good that, by the end of the year, I quietly declared myself the best RBYer in the world (I proved it to myself). During December, I visited Smogon's server under a psuedonym in an experiment that I dubbed the "2005 Smogon Tour." Basically, I wanted to see if I could outplay every person that I faced. After beating Hipmonlee twice and a bunch of other Smogon locals, I noticed that Warthog was on the server. As I had tried to participate in its IBT because I signed up for "team GameFAQs" (I eventually dropped out), I knew who he was because Smogon wouldn't shut up about how he was the best RBYer. So I challenged him and, after outplaying him for a bit, he forfeited. But unlike the tools from Smogon, I wasn't so apt to brag about my victory--after all, what was there to brag about? I PMd him and told him who I was just to see how he would respond; like an impressionable, petulant little bitch, he told Vineon that I was on the server and I was banned soon after. He then made a topic on Smogon about it in which he claimed that "I was desperate to make a friend" for telling him who I was. Yes, that's what he said. I never did hear anything from him again, but Smogon stopped hailing him as God's gift to Pokemon. Wow, what a douche indeed. Interesting how you have all these stories though; would like to see more.
What I don't get is how somebody could be that much of an impressionable twat. I mean, how insecure do you have to be about yourself to not like somebody because of what somebody else said about you--on the internet? I guess I could understand it if said twat was trying to fit in, but that's still a dick move.

Heh, guess I was right in assuming that he was a douchebag. I heard something along of the lines of what you wrote. It's funny how much shit you've had to deal with though.
