Type/s: Grass/Psychic
HP: 393
Attack: 288
Defense: 268
Speed: 208
Special: 348
Moveset #1
Psychic
Sleep Powder
Stun Spore/Mega Drain
Explosion
It's a tank with a great typing that can also attack, spread status and explode. In other words it should always be on your OU team. This is the standard Exeggutor set that has stood the test of time. Although Exeggutor may seem like an appealing lead because he has both Sleep Powder and Stun Spore, he's really too slow to be leading. He's much better off coming in later to sleep and paralyze whatever, because you really don't want your Exeggutor to fall asleep.
Exeggutor's great HP and decent defense allow him to stand up to the toughest of physical sweepers, but what's even better is that Exeggutor's Psychic--the third most powerful Psychic in the game--will keep them wary. Although Tauros can 3HKO Exeggutor, he is going to get mauled in the process and risks getting paralyzed. Snorlax does better but he's also going to get roughed up and will probably have to selfdestruct earlier than he'd want to. Additionally, sweepers like Rhydon can't do much at all, while Golem will be forced to explode.
On the special side of things, Exeggutor is even more effective because of its resistances to psychic and electric attacks. All Exeggutor has to worry about are ice attacks, which Exeggutor can take well for the most part. In fact, Mewtwo is the only Pokemon who can 2HKO Exeggutor with a non-STAB Blizzard.
Anyways, this is where Mega Drain comes in because it is particularly useful against Starmies with Blizzard. It's also useful against Golem and Rhydon as Exeggutor will recover a good amount of HP (keep in mind this doesn't OHKO them so watch out for Explosion from the former).
Moveset #2
Reflect
Rest
Psychic
Sleep Powder/Stun Spore/Explosion
This set utilizes Exeggutor's great defense and can stop Pokemon like Zapdos and Snorlax from killing off Exeggutor with their attacks (Tauros still has Blizzard). Psychic is your best attack to hit stuff with while the fourth slot has some options. Sleep Powder for the usual, Stun Spore for Rest support and Explosion when you've hit a wall.
Moveset #3
Psychic
Double Edge
Hyper Beam
Explosion
Exeggutor has a very underrated and overlooked attack stat and this set can catch certain Pokemon off guard. This set allows Exeggutor to fight off Chansey in a way that doesn't revolve around hoping for special falls, and Alakazam is in big trouble without Reflect. Furthermore, this set allows your Exeggutor to fight other Exeggutors better. It is ideal however, if Exeggutor is coming in on these Pokemon so it can finish them off with Hyper Beam.
Other options: On the first set, Hyper Beam can be used to kill off an unsuspecting Pokemon. This fact might make moveset #3 seem redundant, but Double Edge has its own perks and using it with Hyper Beam can net Exeggutor 2HKOs.
