Here’s a guide for Petit Cup and a quick analysis. Enjoy.
Physical Normal types
L25 Rattata
HP 72
ATK 55
DEF 45
SPD 63
SPE 40
L25 Meowth
HP 77
ATK 50
DEF 45
SPD 72
SPE 47
L25 Eevee
HP 85
ATK 55
DEF 52
SPD 55
SPE 59
There’s only three physical normals (that aren’t flying) and two of them are bad. Rattata is fairly quick and can get some decent damage in, but without Super fang, Rattata’s no good. Meowth is really good with Slash, but again it doesn’t get it. Body slam and it’s speed are pretty nice though, but Meowth will get beaten up by everything. Eevee has nice stats and can deliver reliable and heavy Body slams. The only problem is, that’s about all it can do and Farfetch’d does it better. Eevee isn’t bad, but it’s easy to counter and Farfetch’d is better. It’s good as a Farfetch’d that doesn’t get zapped or iced though.
Eevee’s Body slams are painful to just about anything in the cup, and it has good special so it can resist many others though. A smart player though can switch to a Rock, high defense pokemon or Gastly and Eevee can’t do anything. The other two get other type of attacks but they’re weak with low special. For physical Normals, Farfetch’d is the best choice.
Eevee - Body slam, Toxic/Reflect/Double edge/Swift/Quick attack
Meowth - Body slam, Screech, Bubblebeam, Thunderbolt
Rattata - Body slam, Thunderbolt, Blizzard, Dig/Focus energy
Special Normal types
L25 Clefairy
HP 92
ATK 50
DEF 51
SPD 45
SPE 57
L25 Jigglypuff
HP 115
ATK 50
DEF 37
SPD 37
SPE 40
These two are basically clones except for stat differences. Clefairy is better in everything except for HP, but with lower stats for Jigglypuff, what use is the higher HP? Clefairy’s 92 isn’t anything to sneeze at either. Clefairy is definitely a better special normal type and is standard (although not one of the absolute haves).
With it’s special and HP, Clefairy can survive just about two of any attack (Abra’s Psychic can usually take it down in two though) and Clefairy can deliver some heavy special attacks back. Attack isn’t too shabby either, so Body slam works nice too.
Clefairy - Thunder wave, Thunderbolt, Blizzard, Psychic/Body slam
Jigglypuff - Thunder wave, Thunderbolt, Blizzard, Psychic/Body slam
Electric types

SPE 75
L25 Voltorb
HP 77
ATK 42
DEF 52
SPD 77
SPE 55
All 3 Electrics have their uses. Voltorb is the fastest and also has Explosion. Pikachu is like a weaker Voltorb, but gets Surf. Magnemite is the slowest, but is the most defensive and has the highest special. To start, Pikachu can be scrapped because although it can do extra damage to Grounds, it still can’t beat them, so Pikachu’s garbage. Voltorb is good for it’s speed and Explosion, but Magnemite is definitely the best Electric. With much higher Special and more lasting power, Magnemite is the best Electric to pick. Voltorb is still an option though as it’s a sure-fire Explosion as it’s the fastest pokemon in the cup.
Magnemite is standard and very effective against the many Waters and Flyers. Magnemite has to take some hits as it does it’s job though with it’s lower speed, but it can take them. Magnemite is better at a lower level, as you don’t want your strongest pokemon getting walled by Grounds. If you decide to though, Supersonic is an attack you may want to give it.
Magnemite - Thunder wave, Thunderbolt, Swift/Sonicboom, Reflect/Toxic/Supersonic
Voltorb - Thunder wave, Thunderbolt, Screech/Sonicboom, Explosion
Pikachu - Thunder wave, Thunderbolt, Surf, Seismic toss

L25 Growlithe

Looking at the Fire types, Growlithe has the best stats, except speed and special are somewhat lower. If you decide to have Charmander at L30 you can get it with Slash, or Vuplix at L28 with Confuse ray. Growlithe and Charmander both get Dragon rage, which is one of the best moves for Petit Cup. Growlithe is the best Fire type, with Vuplix and Charmander somewhat tied for second.
Growlithe is standard and not a bad choice overall. There are many Water and a few Grounds that will give Growlithe trouble, and both Bugs and Grasses aren’t used very much, so type-wise Fires are bad in Petit Cup. Growlithe is still useful with Dragon rage and Fire blast is lethal on just about anything.
Growlithe - Fire blast, Dig, Dragon rage, Body slam/Reflect
Vulpix - Fire blast, Dig, Body slam, Quick attack/Reflect/Confuse ray
Charmander - Fire blast, Dig, Dragon rage, Body slam/Slash

Taking a quick look, Farfetch’d is better in everything except for being slightly slower then Spearow. Pidgey can be pushed away immediately since it has bad stats and has to be L28 to get Wing attack. Zubat will get beaten by nearly every pokemon in the cup so it’s not a good choice. Even if you do use it, you can only use Confuse ray and decent Wing attacks if you make it L28. Down to Farfetch’d and Spearow. Farfetch’d has better stats, Body slam and Swords dance, while Spearow has a tad bit higher speed and Drill peck at L29. Spearow is okay, but Farfetch’d is the best flyer.
Farfetch’d is standard and is usually the physical sweeper of the cup. With Body slam and Swords dance, you can wipe everything. Okay, so Fly is annoying, and Peck is a little bit too weak, but Farfetch’d is still good for using Flying moves. It’s the Tauros of Petit cup.
Farfetch’d - Body slam, Swords dance, Fly, Swift/Toxic/Reflect
Spearow - Drill peck/Fly, Double edge, Toxic, Swift
Pidgey - Wing attack/Fly, Double edge, Quick attack, Toxic/Swift/Reflect
Zubat - Confuse ray, Double edge/Swift, Mega drain, Wing attack/Toxic

Grass types are really useless in this cup. They all get stuck with Mega drain or Solarbeam, except Bulbasaur with Razor leaf if you decide to level it up. None of them survive much of anything, they can’t do anything offensive, so all 4 get fail. Exeggcute is okay, but as a Psychic type, which is why it’s not here. If you use one, pick Bulbasaur, Razor leaf or not, it’s better. If you also want to use your precious level points to get Paras with Spore, that may be effective if you can survive and it doesn’t wake up in the first turn.
Bulbasaur with Razor leaf may help taking down Omanyte, the lesser Water types, the grounds and maybe some damage on anything else. Still, there’s other pokemon that can take Bulbasaur’s job. Bulbasaur is the best Grass, but would still be considered under used.
Bulbasaur - Swords dance, Body slam, Toxic/Reflect, Razor leaf/Mega drain
Paras - Stun spore, Swords dance, Dig, Spore/Mega drain/Body slam
Bellsprout - Stun spore, Sleep powder, Mega drain/Wrap/Acid/Swords dance/Double edge

Grounds are your anti-Electrics and also help out on most of anything else. Before brushing any of them off, only Geodude can take down Magnemite in one Earthquake, so Diglett and Cubone are just as useful as Sandshrew for beating Electrics. Diglett has the speed, Cubone has special attacks and Sandshrew is better stat-wise, gets Slash and Swords dance. Cubone can go. Diglett could be good because being fast and knocking out Electrics as quick as Sandshrew helps, but it has no lasting power at all. So it’s between Sandshrew and Geodude. It’s just like Sandslash and Golem in L100 play. Do you want that added Rock type or not? However, Geodude is better offensively as that extra 2 attack is what takes out Magnemite. Geodude also can wall out Farfetch’d, Spearow and the physical Normal types. It takes extra to Water and Grass though, but they generally KO Sandshrew too. Sandshrew is faster though and has more HP. It’s your decision.
Geodude or Sandshrew are necessary, just like L100s to get rid of Electrics and help on Flyers. There’s an excess of Waters though, but a Ground type should still be on every team. Both of them are standard.
Geodude - Earthquake, Rock slide, Explosion, Body slam/Seismic toss
Sandshrew - Earthquake, Rock slide, Seismic toss/Body slam, Swords dance/Slash
Diglett - Fissure, Earthquake, Rock slide, Body slam
Cubone - Earthquake, Body slam, Blizzard, Seismic toss/Fire blast

These are the leftover pokemon that are all just plain bad. Caterpie and Weedle are self-explanatory. The Nidorans are just special using Poison types, but there’s Normals that do it better like Clefairy. Ekans can’t do much of anything. Koffing can explode and use special attacks, so Koffing is okay. The others are all just plain bad.
There’s not many Psychics and Grounds, but the problem with Poisons is that they get killed by everything else too and can’t do any sort of thing as offense. They’re all garbage.
Koffing - Thunderbolt, Fire blast, Explosion, Toxic
Nidoran F - Thunderbolt, Blizzard, Body slam, Double kick/Toxic/Reflect
Nidoran M - Thunderbolt, Blizzard, Body slam, Focus energy
Ekans - Glare, Wrap, Fissure/Dig, Rock slide
Weedle - Poison sting, String shot
Caterpie - Tackle, String shot

L25 Exeggcute
HP 87

Based on stats alone, Abra is much better. Abra has the highest special in Petit cup and one of the highest speeds. Abra just wipes everything out with Psychic. Because of this, Exeggcute then does become useful being an anti-Abra by resisting Psychic and exploding. Then Abra can counter with Reflect and Exeggcute becomes useless, so Exeggcute isn’t good. Abra is definitely standard.
With Abra’s mighty Psychic and it’s high speed, Abra should be on every team and often your higher level pokemon. Not much can stand up against Abra, and when teamed up with Farfetch’d, you can beat anything in the cup with not much trouble.
Abra - Psychic, Thunder wave, Seismic toss, Reflect
Exeggcute - Psychic, Explosion, Hypnosis, Double edge

Wow, almost one quarter of all the Petit cup pokemon are Water, and only one is generally considered standard. Well to start eliminations, Magikarp is bad, Goldeen is better then Psyduck and Squirtle on almost every level, except for a slight amount of defense and Dig. Omanyte is better then Kabuto, as you don’t pick a Water and then just have one for good attack. That also goes for Krabby, although being a beast in attack and defense, it’s not good as a Water type. Omanyte is better then Horsea except for Speed, but if you want a fast Water type, Poliwag is better. Horsea is more well rounded and still not a bad choice for Waters, but Omanyte has an added Rock type, which is all pluses in this cup. That leaves Omanyte, Shellder, Goldeen and Poliwag. Poliwag is bad, but with it’s speed and Hypnosis, you can’t just say no. Shellder is tough and also gets Explosion. Goldeen is a little sketchy as it’s just another Water type. Overall Omanyte is the best Water type.
Omanyte will devastate your opponent with Surf and Ice beam. Omanyte is surely slow though, and sometimes Horsea is a bit better overall because of speed. With Growlithe, Grounds and Dratini running around, Omanyte is a good choice to get rid of them. Omanyte can also do decent at special sweeping as it’s Surf is powered by Omanyte’s high special.
Omanyte - Surf, Ice beam, Body slam, Toxic/Reflect
Horsea - Surf, Ice beam, Double edge, Swift/Toxic
Goldeen - Surf, Ice beam, Horn drill/Double edge, Supersonic
Kabuto - Surf, Ice beam, Body slam, Toxic, Reflect
Shellder - Surf, Ice beam, Clamp, Explosion
Psyduck - Surf, Ice beam, Seismic toss, Body slam/Dig
Poliwag - Hypnosis, Surf, Ice beam, Psychic/Body slam
Squirtle - Surf, Ice beam, Dig, Body slam/Seismic toss
Krabby - Surf, Ice beam, Body slam, Swords dance
Magikarp - Tackle, Splash

These are the extra 4 that don’t fit in with the others. To start, Machop is the only Fighting pokemon in the cup. With Submission being bad as always and Geodude better with Earthquake and Rock slide, Machop is easy to pass on. Gastly is as good a choice as Gengar is. Weak to Psychic, but as a nice mix of moves and it’s high special and speed. Gastly is low standard. Ditto is now somewhat effective. It can take attacks better, but again, with Transform, you may have to wait two turns before getting to do something, so Ditto doesn’t get to do much as always. Dratini is one of the most annoying foes. It’s only weakness is Ice and with no Ice types, Dratini can resist many different pokemon. Ice attacks will still do good damage though, but Dratini can hang on, unless it’s Omanyte’s Blizzard. Dratini gets a nice mix of attacks and also gets Thunder wave, so Dratini is standard. It’s stats are a bit low though.
Machop - Submission, Rock slide, Earthquake, Karate chop/Body slam
Gastly - Hypnosis, Thunderbolt/Psychic/Mega darin/Nightshade/Confuse ray/Explosion
Ditto - Transform
Dratini - Thunder wave, Thunderbolt, Surf/Ice beam/Wrap/Fire blast/Dragon rage/Body slam
Conclusion
Petit cup is an interesting cup as it gives you very limited choice, an organization of levels and a selection of style of playing. Petit cup of course has it’s better pokemon, just like L100 play, so here’s a list of standards.
Omanyte
Abra
Farfetch’d

Magnemite
Growlithe
Sandshrew
Geodude
Clefairy

My personal team
Abra L30 - Psychic, Thunder wave, Seismic toss, Reflect

Omanyte
Abra
Farfetch’d
Dratini
Gastly
Magnemite
Growlithe
Sandshrew
Geodude
Clefairy
Other good choices
Horsea
Voltorb
Diglett
Spearow
Vulpix
Charmander
Eevee
The rest is up to you on how to make your team. If you’re looking for a way to play with 6 pokemon, try with 2 sets of regular teams (in other words, the combined level of all 6 can’t be higher then 160).
My personal team
Abra L30 - Psychic, Thunder wave, Seismic toss, Reflect
