A King among men, indeed!
HP: 365
Atk: 282
Def: 252
Speed: 268
Sp. Atk: 268
Sp. Def: 248
Standard Nidoking:
Nidoking (M) @ Leftovers
- Earthquake
- Lovely Kiss
- Ice Beam
- Thunder/Fire Blast
~This is the set you'll most likely see whenever you see Nidoking. BoltBeam is the best attack combo in the game, and it helps Nido beat back its counters. Some run Fire Blast over one of the special attacks since Heracross can wall Nido all day, but you run the risk of being walled by something else if you do slap Fire Blast on the set.
Other Options:
Counter, Dynamicpunch, Fissure, Horn Drill, Morning Sun, Reflect, Roar, Shadow Ball, Surf.
Counter is a nasty surprise and has worked to great success when I used it in 2005. Dynamicpunch is here if you want something else to do to Lax if you manage to sleep it. Don't use the OHKO moves unless you enjoy being a faggot, ok? Morning Sun gives Nido recovery so that Raikou doesn't wear you down over time (just know, Morning Sun is illegal with both Lovely Kiss and Counter). Reflect can help Nido support the team, same with Roar (no idea what you'll roar...maybe Cursemuk or Cursechamp?). Shadow Ball is here if you hate being owned by P-Trap Misdreavus, although EQ only does about 4% less, and Surf can give you a OHKO on Rhydon =).
Opinion:
A great cleanup pokemon, who has good yet bad typing. This is another pokemon that if you aren't properly prepared for, he goes from cleaner to sweeper, since he can hit just hard enough to cause damage, and he resists two of the more common status moves (Toxic and Thunder Wave). If Dragonite learned Earthquake, I think Nidoking would possibly be used less, since Nite does BoltBeam a bit better.
Counters:
Heracross is the best counter, assuming Nido isnt running Fire Blast. Sleep Talking Snorlax is another good counter. Suicune tends to ruin Nidoking's fun, assuming Nidoking doesn't paralyze it with Thunder . Nidoking is another pokemon where it's counters are dependent on its set. If it lacks Thunder, then bulky waters (esp. sleep talkers) will handle it well. If it lacks Ice Beam, Dragonite and Zapdos will laugh.
