Type/s: Fire
HP: 333
Attack: 358
Defense: 218
Speed: 228
Special: 318
Weaknesses: Water, ground, rock
Flareon is held back by it's limitations.
Fire Blast
Body Slam
Hyper Beam
Quick Attack/Reflect/Leer/Filler
Ok, Flareon has a MONSTER attack stat. You can wreak some serious havoc with Body Slam and Hyper Beam. Because of it's low speed, it's definitely better to play Flareon later in the game when some of the opponents Pokemon are paralyzed. Flareon also has a great special stat and it's Fire Blast can hurt like hell. A CH Fire Blast would hit Golem for 50% I believe. You can burn rock types and do surprisingly good damage, it's a good deal. Or you can just paralyze them with Body Slam.
Flareon, being a fire type, gets hit hard by ground, a common type move. So that definitely holds Flareon back. It's water weakness hurts too since Flareon, being a UU Pokemon, will find water moves more common in the UU field. Flareon can definitely be played in standard because of it's ability to hit things hard with physical attacks and pierce through Golem and Rhydon. Flareon is definitely the most underrated of the three Eevee evolutions.
It still loses out against the likes of Starmie, Lapras, Tauros and Snorlax in standard. It can hold it's own in standard somewhat, but certainly not effectively enough to make it a standard Pokemon. It's a sweeper that gets outperformed by the likes of Tauros, Snorlax, even Persian and Kangaskhan in the long run. No STAB definitely holds Flareon back. It's still a hard hitting Pokemon with a damn powerful Fire Blast though. Not a bad choice to include in your UU team.
