The 2007 TOTY, the overall best tournament that THE Alternative had this year. Here are the candidates.
2007 RBY League
The 2nd installment of the RBY League series was a very successful and intense tournament. The main stories were myself, the defending champion who was trying to remain the champion, and ragnaar, who seemed like he had no chance only to make a miracle comeback and force a 2nd place showdown with TA Hall of Famer SamG, which ragnaar managed to win. The NDCS and SDCS were both very interesting matchups, it was me against ragnaar and because of ragnaars amazing feat, you couldn't count me out. The other matchup, the NDCS, featured a new breed battler by the name of Kampfer, who went up against TA veteran Billtog.
Me and Kampfer both won our divisions and successfully defended them, and met in the Undisputed Championship Series, in what was truly the most competitive final round possibly in TA history. I emerged victorious, winning the best of 10 series 6 games to 3, putting an end to what was a great tournament.
TOS6
TOS6 was the biggest TOS tournament ever, getting 32 people, also being the biggest tournament in THE Alternative's history. It featured people from THE Alternative, TP, Hells Flames and PLDH. This was truly a memorable tournament and I felt this was even better than the original TOS which is saying something considering how revolutionary the original TOS was.
There were many stories of TOS6 that contributed to it's greatness. Just the fact that I was in this tournament was a huge factor, as I had won every TOS tournament except for TOS2. There was also the story of Slayer, who had been really on and off for a while in his status as a battler, and was determined to do something big. However, I was completely unaware how much the community known as PLDH wanted one of their members to win it, but I enjoyed the competitive spirit and it helped the tournament a lot.
In the third round, I went up against Jimmy Kudo, who was one of the PLDH's best battlers. In one of my best battles of the year, I won 1-0, though JK blamed it on hax, I was able to digress on why it wasn't. Another story was Glitch, who promised that he'd meet me in the finals. This however, would eventually intertwine with Slayer, who made that same promise. How fitting it was when the final four consisted of me, Jimmy Kudo, Glitch and Slayer!
Glitch and Slayer had a nailbiter, which Slayer managed to come out on top of 1-0. The semi finals consisted of Jimmy Kudo against Slayer, in what would be maybe the most controversial battle of the year, their battle ended when it was tied 4-4 due to an RTE.
I gave Slayer the win, as he easily had it won, and asked many people, all of them agreeing with me. Kudo didn't like it and threw a fit, and his PLDH minions tried to defend him, but they would eventually PM me and tell me they were just doing it out of loyalty or whatever.
In the finals, to add the icing on what was a mighty fine cake, Slayer made another promise, saying he would beat me and win TOS6. He wasn't able to fufill it, but definitely revitalized his Poke career in what was truly a great outing in a great tournament.
CCBAS
CCBAS is on here for a good reason; it symbolized the strength of THE Alternative. For about 2 months, THE Alternative was pretty much dead. I didn't help matters much, as I had a loaded schedule in Europe and didn't pay much attention. Then one day, it hit me. I was letting this great site go to waste, I was letting what I, we, the people created. An original site with original members. I vowed I would never take THE Alternative for granted again and created CCBAS, Couldn'tComeBackAnySooner.
The tournament was incredibly successful, truly a great moment in THE Alternative's history. The final round also consisted of two of THE Alternative's all time greats; myself and fellow HoFer Slayer. Thanks guys for believing in THE Alternative like you have for all of this time!
Good luck to the nominated tournaments!
