Groudon
Type: Ground
Ability: drought
-the sun starts appearing on the field
stats:
hp-100
att-150
def-140
sp.att-100
sp.def-90
speed-90
Set 1: Standard smash-things-up-set
Groudon@leftovers
adamant nature
EVs: 60HP/216 att/24 def/210 sp.def
-earthquake
-swords dance
-rock slide
-HP bug
This nasty thing here can do plenty of damage if set up right. SD up twice, and kill things with rock slide and earthquake. HP bug for Latios, which will switch around your earthquake and ice beam you to death. Notice the extra sp.def? They're used to take on an ice beam from Soul dew from Latios. Groudon can survive an ice beam, and considering that you SD'd, you can kill Latios with it. Switch out if faced with a faster pokemon or Kyogre. Not to mention Lugia can whirlwind out this set as well.
Set 2: Subset
Groudon@leftovers or salac berry
adamant nature
EVs-252 HP/66 att/192 speed
-swords dance
-substitute
-earthquake
-HP ghost, bug, rock slide, or body slam
Substitute set. 101 subs means that it will not break when hit with seismic toss from blissey. Swords dance while the opponent desperately tries to break your substitute or predict a switch, then Earthquake them or use one of the following moves at the list. HP ghost hurts things like the Lati@s, and it hurts lugia badly as well. Bug kills shiftry and eggy, rock slide for the flinch factor, and Ho-oh, or body slam for a chance at paralysis. Note that all moves, added with swords dance, does huge amounts of damage. An excellent set and Groudon should be respected for that. Not to mention salac berry activates when you're low in HP, which with those EVs, outspeeds everything in the uber metagame. Just watch out for Deoxys.
Set 3: BP jask set
Groudon@choice band
adamant nature
EVs-108HP/252 att/72 def/78 sp.def
-earthquake
-HP bug/ghost
-rock slide
-body slam
This set fully makes use of Ninjask's Baton Pass. Speed is added onto this guy so it can kill stuff, and with choice band, speed isn't going to be a problem because a BP'd speed boost from Ninjask can make it outspeed everything in the metagame. HP bug and ghost takes care of sunnybeamers and the Lati@s, rock slide for flyers, and body slam for paralysis. This thing stops deoxys right in its tracks if played right, and with swords dance BP'd, this thing is practically invincible.
Opinion: A versatile, physical pokemon, but not the best. It can't raise its sp.def, and most of the ubers are able to kill this thing if played at inoppertunate time. Ninjask's BP on groudon can seriously make this thing a monster.
Counters: Exeguttor, shiftry, Lati@s, lugia
